Sorting Out The Toadstool Table
The pick-a-chest round on the toadstool table has been due a tidy for a while now. It's one of the older corners of the games room, and the chest icons had started looking a bit tired next to some of the newer additions, so I finally sat down with the fox one evening to sort it out properly.
Most of the work was just visual — new artwork for the chests, a slightly clearer layout so it's obvious which ones you've already opened during a round. The underlying mechanics didn't change at all, since the pick-a-chest bonus still triggers the same way it always has once three scatters land across the reels.
The fox was mainly there for opinions on the chest designs, and she had strong ones. We went through four different toadstool patterns before settling on the one that's live now, mostly because the others looked a bit too uniform next to the rest of the room's autumn colors.
It's a small update in the grand scheme of things, but the table's one of the busier ones on a typical evening, so it felt worth getting right rather than rushing. If you spot the new chests next time you're through, that's what the fuss was about.
Next on the list is probably the wheel table, which has been asking for a similar once-over for a few months now. That one might take a bit longer, given how much fiddlier the segment artwork tends to be.
